Terrible dead-ends:

1) X isn't sentient (when they are)
2) X is sentient but sentience doesn't matter for moral consideration
3) X is sentient & sentience matters but it's OK to still needlessly harm & kill X for my pleasure

Most of humanity is at 3). It's the most insidious 😢

A fascinating, urgent discussion on "The Future of Democracy."

An even more radical challenge... should future democracy just be for us humans?

Maybe we need a #SentientistPolitics? #Sentocracy? https://sentientism.info/how/sentientist-politics

Periodic reminder that you don't need to agree with other sentientists, or any particular sentientist, about anything else.

You just need to be committed to "evidence, reason and compassion for all sentient beings."

It's a pluralistic worldview - not a club!

There are some stories that renew faith & defy the odds...at the same time, highlight the huge inconsistency in the human capacity to demonstrate compassion. But ever thankful for the mercies shown...#Speciesism #Sentientism @BelugaSanctuary @Sealife #Whales #Captivity 🙏💚
