My colleague @jenniferjacquet has a major new book out on how big business takes on science and wins.

Essential reading for animal and environmental advocates and other supporters of food system reform.

#Sentientism is headlining the @americnhumanist annual conference tomorrow night!

Headlining is what I'm calling it anyway 🙂

https://conference.americanhumanist.org/index.php/schedule2022

Thanks @amyhlaff for queuing this up and leading - looking forward to it!

Where should #Humanism go next?

Which would you like from others?

Moral consideration: They won't needlessly harm or kill you.

Moral exclusion: Your suffering & death mean nothing.

(I don't even know what to call this): Enjoying your torture would be bad but you can be harmed & killed for trivial reasons.

Animal protection is not a Western phenomenon. Around the world, groups and organizations are working hard to make a difference for animals. The size & population density of Asia make it a crucial frontier in the development of global animal advocacy efforts. a🧵(1)

How different would the world be today if suspected #Sentientist Theophrastus (~371 – ~287 BCE) had prevailed over Aristotle re: how we should think of non-human sentient animals...?
