If we define morality solely as rules of co-operation... then yes morality is just about co-operation.

But for many people - maybe even the mainstream - morality is about compassion & kindness. Valuing the perspectives of others whether or not they're able to co-operate.

Oliver Scott Curry @Oliver_S_Curry

Some people seem surprisingly dismissive of a mainstream approach to morality, in the social contract tradition https://twitter.com/Oliver_S_Curry/status/1636701396924784640

It’s difficult to understand how good people can be indoctrinated into doing bad things - until we realise that we’re one of them.

Do wild animals matter? What (if anything) should we do about it?

Fascinating thesis by @ludwig_raal taking a #Sentientist approach re: wild animal ethics: https://scholar.sun.ac.za/handle/10019.1/124595

Such a pleasure to talk to Nicolas Treich @Treich13 yesterday about the new field of #SentientistEconomics.

(Yes, every field of human thought is improved by putting "#Sentientist" in front of it 🙂)

Out soon on the #Sentientism YouTube & Podcast.
