Join Our London Meetup On 25 Jan!

Happy New Year! Come join us at our fourth London Sentientism meetup. Sign up for free at the Luma invite. We’ll be gathering for the afternoon at the wonderful The Spread Eagle pub in Homerton, East London. Our suggested discussion topic is Sentientist Politics, but based on our previous meetups almost anything could come up! Why not bring a friend too?

Everyone is welcome whether you agree with the Sentientism worldview or not! Thanks to Michael (who facilitates our Sentientism England group) for organising.

A few other quick updates:

  • Our YouTube / Podcast publishing has been a bit slower recently, so now is a great time to explore our back catalogue of nearly 250 fascinating worldview conversations about how to make a better world. Our latest episode, with Raffael Fasel and John Adenitire, explored the radical idea of Sentientist Constitutions. We’ve added playlists to YouTube that will help you find episodes on particular themes. Future episodes to watch out for include “The Mountain In The Sea” author Ray Nayler, Eva Meijer, Nick Cooney, John Sanbonmatsu (this time focusing on “The Omnivore’s Deception“) and Natalie Khazaal.
  • My episode sluggishness is partly because I’ve been focusing on the Sentientism book project. I’m 8 chapters and about 80,000 words in now and we have a draft book proposal almost ready for discussing with potential agents and publishers. The support I’ve had from Worldshapers and from Paulette has been invaluable.
  • Our Sentientist Education work is progressing well with more schools requesting speaking engagements. Please get in touch if you’d like to help. We’re slowly building a network of volunteer school speakers who can do both local and remote sessions. Working in schools is important, mind-expanding and probably the purest fun Sentientism thing I do. I ran a session with ~400 17-18 year olds just yesterday in a local school. Their engagement and questions were awesome. I’ll also soon be training another group of trainee Religion & Worldviews Education teachers about the Sentientism worldview.
  • Our application to establish Sentientism as a UK charity will be going in this week. It tends to be a slow and sometimes painful process – wish us luck.

And, as ever, thank you to alyn1988 (our first ever YouTube “member”!), Tarabella, Steven, Roy and Denise for helping to fund our costs via our Sentientism Patreon, our Ko-Fi page and via YouTube membership. You can do the same or help by picking out some Sentientism merch on Redbubble (mugst-shirtsstickers…) or buying our guests’ books from your local bookstore via the Sentientism Bookshop.
