Lunch (or just a drink) in London on 15th March? And Some Other Updates

We’d love you to join us at our fifth London Sentientism worldview meetup. Please sign up for free at the Luma invite so Michael can book a good space. We’ll be gathering again at the wonderful plant-based The Spread Eagle pub in Homerton, East London. Our suggested discussion topic is Sentientist Economics, although there’s no obligation to get involved in nerdy conversations. It’s lovely just to chill-out together too. Why not bring a friend? As it’s UK Mothers’ Day, why not bring your mother, or your kids, or your nonhuman family members?

As with all of our communities and events, everyone is welcome whether you agree with the Sentientism worldview or not! Thanks again to Michael (who facilitates our Sentientism England group) for organising.

A few other quick updates:

  • I had the pleasure of talking about the Sentientism worldview with Carrie Freeman on her WRFG-Atlanta radio show and In Tune to Nature podcast
  • Our Sentientist Education work is progressing well with more schools requesting speaking engagements. Please get in touch if you’d like to help. We’re slowly building a network of volunteer school speakers who can do both local and remote sessions. Working in schools is important, mind-expanding and probably the purest fun Sentientism thing I do. I’m also continuing to work directly with religious and worldviews education teachers through podcasts (forthcoming here – thanks Steph), panel sessions (thanks to Louisa at the Harris Federation and Katie at AREIAC), workshops and teacher training (thanks to Karen at Worcester University and Alexis at UCL)
  • If you ever want to buy a book written by a Sentientism podcast guest there’s a Bookshop.org Sentientism shop here with a list. Every purchase helps local bookshops and we’ll get a quid or two to support our work normalising Sentientism
  • Our YouTube / Podcast publishing has been a bit slower recently, so now is a great time to explore our back catalogue of nearly 250 fascinating worldview conversations about how to make a better world. Our latest episodes are with two very different authors, Mari Andrew and Ray Nayler
  • The Sentientism book proposal, provisionally titled “Everything and Everyone” is now with some publishers for consideration. This is a tough industry and odds are low, but I’m looking forward to finding out what editors think. As ever, the support I’ve had from Worldshapers and from Paulette has been invaluable
  • Our application to establish Sentientism as a UK charity is in! They already have questions…
  • If you’d like to set up a Sentientism worldview community for your area or city or country, whether online or in person, please let me know. I’d love to help. Here’s our current lists of global and local communities.

And, as ever, thank you to alyn1988 (our first ever YouTube “member”!), Tarabella, Steven, Roy and Denise for helping to fund our costs via our Sentientism Patreon, our Ko-Fi page and via YouTube membership. You can do the same or help by picking out some Sentientism merch on Redbubble (mugst-shirtsstickers…) or buying our guests’ books from your local bookstore via the Sentientism Bookshop.
